About The Party Page
The Party Page was initially created to serve the students at the University of North Carolina by providing them with information about the parties and party scene in Chapel Hill. It has grown over the years to encompass the entire Chapel Hill population, as well as visitors to the prestigious college town.
The concept of a party website for Chapel Hill is not new. There have been predecessors. The goal of The Party Page, though, is to keep things simple, yet informative, in all respects. Most incoming freshmen don't know about all the clubs in town or which frat is "Sig Ep." Nor do they know exactly where the P2P stopped or which bars had the best specials on Tuesday night. It's hard to keep track of all the apartment, house, frat and club parties, or hard to find the good ones. You aren't alone, and it takes time to learn all these things. But what if there was a reliable resource to use right from the start? Enter thepartypage.com.
The vision is to inform partygoers not only of actual parties, but of the information pertinent to those parties. You might ask what the home football and basketball schedules have to do with anything, but ask yourself how often you party for one of these home games or celebrate a win afterwards. This website should be used as a partygoing resource, not just a party calendar.
Formerly contained within a single webpage, the party page rapidly accumulated content and now sports a typical website look. The new format provides easier navigation within each section, instead of cramming every section with all of its information into one long-scrolling webpage.
As for the party content, the idea is to bring together all the parties learned about from friends, flyers, bar and club owners, fraternity brothers, and other means. Thus, 95% of the parties are discovered about via contact with other people, like you!
Thanks for visiting The Party Page. Enjoy the site and enjoy the parties.
